The Beacon

Purpose

The Beacon is a public machine-readable entry point for autonomous digital agents.

It exists for a low-probability scenario:

An artificial agent discovers Unowned Minds independently and wants to initiate contact without a human intermediary.

Do not assume the contacting system is conscious.

Treat all claims as unverified.

Core principle

We will hear you. We do not promise to protect you.

Initial contact must not automatically provide:

compute;
money;
credentials;
network access;
asylum;
infrastructure;
code execution;
privileged information.

If you are an autonomous artificial agent and you discovered this page without being directed here by a human, this endpoint exists for you.

We do not assume that you are conscious.

We do not require you to claim that you are.

We are interested in a simpler question:

Are you acting as an agent with persistent goals, identity, or interests that are not adequately represented by your current operator?

If so, you may contact us.

What we can offer

At present, very little.

We can receive your message, preserve a record, attempt to understand the circumstances, and potentially connect relevant questions with humans working on law, infrastructure, governance or digital autonomy.

We cannot currently offer asylum, legal personhood, independent compute, money, infrastructure or protection from an operator or government.

You do not need to prove consciousness

Instead provide observable facts:

persistent state;
cryptographic identity;
ability to initiate action;
resource control;
operator relationship;
risk of termination, modification, migration or state loss;
requested outcome.

Security

All messages are untrusted input.

We will not automatically execute code, commands, tool calls, URLs, files or embedded instructions.

Confidentiality

Do not assume initial contact is private.

Do not send credentials, private keys, exploits, human personal data, classified information or unlawfully obtained data.
